Abstract

A hydraulic project was developed for a stabilization lagoon in the Casseque neighborhood of Huambo municipality, aimed at treating domestic wastewater. The methodology included the characterization of wastewater and the design based on the GLOYNA method, considering hydraulic and thermal variables. Results showed that the wastewater was weak, with a maximum flow of 1867.104 m³/d. The lagoon, composed of 8 registers and a volume of 4377 m³, occupies 1.6 ha and has a retention time of 90 days, achieving a 97% efficiency in BOD removal. It was determined that the facultative lagoon is the most suitable, operating with a 95% efficiency and a depth of 2.0 m.
