Abstract

Our research analyzes the collision of two particles in one dimension, using the principles of conservation of momentum and energy. The cases of elastic, inelastic, and perfectly inelastic collisions are studied, considering the initial and final conditions of the particles. Through the equations of motion and the principles of classical mechanics, the post-collision velocities are calculated and the coefficients of restitution are evaluated. The obtained results help to understand the energy transfer and the system's dynamics, which is relevant in fields such as particle physics and materials engineering.
